Wrap-up Blog Post

  1. What was your favorite project(s) during the semester? Please explain why.

Video story is my favorite part because I have never learned it before this class. I could create whatever I want in the video and it made me think creatively.

  2. What skills did you learn in the course that you believe you will use in the future?

Video and Photoshop, these two is the most common apps in the real life and I use it all the time too.

  3. What coursework or career path do you see in your future? Did this class influence your decision-making in choosing a career path?

My career path in future should not be related to high level computer skills since I am bad about it. So even I learned about editing video and photo etc… this class still didn’t influence my decision.

  4. Is there any skill that you wished you would have learned in this course that you did not learn? If yes, what skill is that?

I wish I can learn more about photoshop deeply since photoshop skills can use it anywhere even in my normal life. (Taking pictures for family)

  5. Did you find any websites or resources not posted in the class material that were especially useful?

Not really, but Youtube is a excellent website for me to learn things and create my video channel.

  6. If you have any other thoughts, comments, suggestions, etc., please feel free to add them to your post.

This class is super fun and I could step by step to finish the assignment easily.

Final Video Story

For the reason that I make this “”Food Video” is because the YouTube Channel “Epic Meal Time”. It is one of my favorite channels on YouTube. Base on the idea of “Epic Meal Time” channel, I came up an idea about showing people how I cook. (Indomei ramen)

First, I prepared all the things that I needed and asked my roommate to hold my IPod to start filming me. Over all the steps of showing how to cook Indomei ramen, I separated 8 video and I grouped it all together in the draft video.

I used Adobe Premiere to cut off all the parts that I didn’t want in my draft video and added all the transition effects between videos to make the draft video seems smoother. Furthermore, I added the title and scripts in the video to make it clear what am I doing in the video.

After I edited the whole video, I went to Freesound.org to find a background music that fits my video and my topic. It was not easy to find a good background music since the Freesound.org doesn’t provide the music that I wanted. Anyway, I found a music that singing the language that I don’t even know; I wish the language that they are using to sing is Indonesian, so that this music would perfectly match my video since I am cooking Indonesia instant ramen for my video story.

That’s all I did on my draft video story.

After I saw all the comment and others draft video story, I felt like I have so much to fix in my draft video. There is a video that I watched in my classmate’s blog that doing the same thing as mine, “Food”. That video is just professional and it changed my idea to how to work on my final video.

First, I crossed out the original audio that included my voice and my roommate’s voice, then I tune up the background music and edited the whole video to cross out the extra scenes. I had to reinsert all the transitions between the scenes again and after all the works I feel great with my final video.

Do you guys like my final video story? Please “Like” it if you do enjoy this video 🙂

Draft Video Story

This is my first time to play around the adobe premiere. I have always wanted to make a video but I had no idea how to edit whatever I film. In this assignment, it fully gave me a space in my mind to create whatever I want in the video.

The first thing I thought of this assignment is to create a video like the one that I always see on YouTube. “Epic Meal Time” is one of my favorite channels on YouTube. Base on the idea of “Epic Meal Time” channel, I came up an idea about showing people how I cook. (Indomei ramen)

That’s all I could do for my draft video and I feel pretty good for it.

What about you? What do you think about my video?

Final Audio Story

In this audio assignment, I designed to create a topic about international students and interview one of the international students in WSU who is from Vietnam.

First of all, I had to prepare some questions and made an introduction for my audio, then I recorded myself for the introduction part and then I invited Ken to talk about his experiences since he has been studying in US for more than 4 years.

There was a funny fact while I using Adobe Audition for my draft audio story.

The way that I recorded the audio was to use “Windows Audio Recorder”. When I tried to put those audios in to Adobe Audition and fix them, that major problem came up. Because of the format of the audios that I recorded, I couldn’t open them in Adobe Audition. When I thought of the Audition Tutorial that showed us how to use mp3 format, I tried to find a way to change my audios to mp3 format in Google. It took me almost half hour to change the format, so that I can put my audios in to the Adobe Audition and fix them.

It was not that hard to fix the whole audio assignment. First, I put my only two audios together in to one, and then I listened it over and over again, so that I could make sure which part I should delete.

For the final audio story, I heard the suggestions from my classmates and I went up to the “freesounds” website that the instructor showed us and found my background music. I tried to tune up and down of the background music and I finally made it perfectly!

This is the best audio I have even made in my life since I never made an audio before. Hope you guys enjoy my final audio.

For the whole assignment, I think it is not hard to do the audio job, but people just need to listen clear and spend time on it to fix all the detail parts. Anyway it was fun to do it, hope I can get a good grade on it since I spent a lot of time to fix the small detail in the audio.

Hope you guys enjoy my draft audio and please give me some opinions on it.
